January is over so now we can focus on getting in the mood for love! 

Here is how to get the perfect red nails for February, the NAIL KIND way ❤️

First of all, make sure you’ve got all your tools handy (‘scuse the pun).  Our kit has the following:

• Buffer and nail file
• Cuticle stick
• Bowl of warm water
• Nail Kind Natural Base Coat
• Your Nail Kind colour of choice – to get us in the zone, we recommend our latest launch, Burning Love or one of our classics such as Red Carpet or Wine O’Clock!
• Nail Kind Mist You Top Coat
• Nail Kind Natural Nail Oil
• Gentle nail polish remover
• Hand Scrub
• Hand Cream
• Cotton wool

 Step 1: It’s all in the prep

To get the best results, take as much time prepping your nails as you do polishing them. 

Take all oils and dirt off using a nail polish remover.  Then wash your hands and dry them.

Step 2: Exfoliate

Use an exfoliator or scrub to remove any dead skin cells, leaving your hands smooth and soft.  

We prefer ones with gentle ingredients such as oats or jojoba beads or salt.

Step 3 Cuticle Time

Gently massage the Nail Kind Natural Nail Oil into your cuticles and push them back using a cuticle stick.  Wipe clean with your gentle nail polish remover.

Step 4  Smooth

Buff your nails to create a smooth base for your polish - this will help give it a long-lasting shine.  Buffing also helps circulation for a healthier nail.

Step 5 File n Shape

File your nails to the desired shape.  Make sure you file from outer corner to the centre of the nail.

If you're not sure on shape, mirror the shape of your cuticles.

Step 6 Base

Applying our Nail Kind Base coat has several benefits.  It helps seal off your natural nail oil which can prevent your polish from adhering to your nail.  It also creates a beautifully smooth base to get even glossier nails for longer.  Don’t skip this step!

Step 7 Colour Time

Before you start, roll the bottle in the palm of your hands a couple of times.

Apply your first coat, starting with your less agile hand.  Keep those forearms on the table.  Then do your other hand.

Wait 5 minutes and then apply the second coat, in the same way.

We always put a towel on the table – just in case of any spillages…

Step 8 Gloss the Gloss

Once your second coat is dry, time to add a glossy finishing touch.  Use MIST YOU Top Coat to protect your polish.

Step 9 Keep Moisturised

Moisturise your hands with a natural hand cream to sooth and nourish.  We keep ours by our computer so we can moisturise whilst on those video calls.

You’re ready to hit the town, date night or just walk the dog with your fabulous RED manicure.
