How to create the perfect at-home pedicure
Taking care of your feet is essential for overall well-being and maintaining healthy, happy feet. One way to pamper yourself and keep your feet in tip-top shape is by giving yourself a soothing pedicure at home. Not only does it save you time and money, but it also provides a relaxing experience. Read on for our step-by-step guide on how to do a pedicure in the comfort of your own home.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
Before starting your pedicure, ensure that you have all the necessary supplies within reach. This includes:
- Basin or tub filled with warm water
- Towel
- Nail polish remover
- Cotton pads
- Nail clippers
- Nail file
- Cuticle pusher
- Nail Kind Natural Nail Oil
- Exfoliating scrub
- Moisturizer
- Nail Kind natural Base Coat
- Nail Kind polish of your choice (why not check out Let’s Go Party’s bright colours)
- Mist You Top coat
Step 2: Remove Old Nail Polish
Start by removing any old nail polish using a non-acetone nail polish remover. Apply a small amount of remover on a cotton pad and gently wipe away the polish, ensuring that you cover the entire nail surface.
Step 3: Soak Your Feet
Fill a basin or tub with warm water, enough to comfortably cover your feet. You can add a few drops of essential oil or a foot soak to enhance the relaxing experience. Soak your feet for about 10-15 minutes to soften the skin and relax your muscles.
Step 4: Exfoliate and Scrub
After soaking, pat your feet dry with a towel. Use an exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin cells and reveal smoother feet. Gently massage the scrub onto your feet and focus on areas such as the heels, soles, and sides. Rinse off the scrub and dry your feet thoroughly.
Step 5: Trim and Shape Nails
Trim your nails to your desired length using nail clippers. Remember to cut straight across and avoid rounding the corners to prevent ingrown nails. Use a nail file to shape the edges and smooth out any roughness.
Step 6: Take Care of Cuticles
Apply Nail Kind Natural Nail Oil to your cuticles to soften them. Gently push back the cuticles using a cuticle pusher or an orangewood stick. Be careful not to cut or push too hard to avoid any discomfort or damage. Ensure you wash the Nail Oil off before applying your base coat.
Step 7: Moisturize
Massage a generous amount of moisturizer onto your feet and calves. This will hydrate and nourish your skin, leaving it soft and supple. Take your time to indulge in a little foot massage, focusing on pressure points and areas that feel tense.
Step 8: Apply Nail Polish
Before applying your chosen Nail Kind nail polish, apply a Nail Kind’s Natural Base Coat to protect your nails and help the polish adhere better. Once it is dry, apply your favourite Nail Kind nail polish colour. We’re loving Burning Love and Ohh my Orange right now.
Start with a thin layer and let it dry before applying a second coat. Finally, finish off with Mist Your Top Coat to seal and protect the colour.
Step 9: Relax and Enjoy
After completing your pedicure, give your nails ample time to dry. Find a cosy spot, put your feet up, and take a moment to relax. Admire your freshly done nails 😍
Treating yourself to a pedicure at home can be a wonderful way to care for your feet and indulge in a little self-pampering. By following these step-by-step instructions, you can create a relaxing experience and achieve beautiful, well-groomed feet. Ready for the sandals, peep-toes and flip-flops this summer.
